NH Collection Salamanca Palacio de Castellanos

We recently spent two nights at the NH Collection Salamanca Palacio de Castellanos and were very happy with our stay. This is a charming hotel that makes use of a 15th century palace with service and room quality that live up to the NH Collection standards. Reservation was made through booking.com. Confirmation was received through email instantly. We were very well received upon arrival by friendly check-in staff. There is valet parking along the street just in front of the hotel, underground parking available (€20 per night) as well as luggage storage for early arrivals and those with late departures. You'll find is a large lobby and common area as well as an outside terrace area just outside the property. There is a hotel restaurant available. The property is located in the heart of the Historic Centre of Salamanca with World Heritage attractions and other historic places for sightseeing in all directions. There are parks, shopping as well as plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and bars nearby as well. You can pretty much walk everywhere from this location. We had a suite during this stay at NH Collection which included a downstairs seating room with nice sofa, fridge, espresso machine, kettle, TV and work desk as well as an upstairs bedroom and bathroom, both of which were spacious. Importantly, the bed was super comfortable, affording great sleep. Bathroom toiletries and hair dryer were available, shower water pressure just fine. Lastly, house cleaning during our stay was just fine.

This hotel was one of the top hotels we've stayed at anywhere in recent years. The staff were extremely helpful with our arrival and parking of our electric car in an electric charging point bay within the hotel car park. The staff at reception and in the breakfast, room were very pleasant. This hotel is located within the historic quarter of Salamanca and a short walk from the wonderful plaza mayor. We stayed at the hotel during Semana Santa (Holy Week) and it was the perfect location to see the street processions and events. Although our room was modern in style the large central atrium of the hotel retained its historic design with tall pillars supporting the high roof. Historically this may have been open to the skies but now had a glass roof which made it light and airy. A great place to sit and relax. I believe the building dates back to the 15th century.

Location was excellent, the hotel staff helpful, the double bed mattress pretty comfortable. The room itself was not very big, but spacious enough. We took a room with a view, and the view on the monastery was nice. The breakfast was OK - a regular hotel level.

The hotel staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful first of all. It was very convenient to park the car to unload after a 700km journey, and the concierge parked the car for us. The reception lady was very helpful, putting us in two nice rooms and recommended restaurants nearby. Rooms were comfy, clean, and breakfast was excellent too. A very pleasant stay.

Location, just 5 mins from the cathedral and under 10 mins from Plaza Major. Staff were very helpful. Room extremely comfortable.
